balboa.

it was a crazy idea, but i said, 'what the heck!' packed a backpack and took the kids to the beach by myself. our favorite place to go: balboa island. i wasn't planning on the weather cooperating because the forecast called for an overcast in the mid 60's. turned out to be low 70's and it was perfect. surprisingly, so were the kids. they cooperated and as a result, it was a success.

first, it was a ride on the ferry to get to the beach.

 

 then the jackets/sweaters came off and it was fun in the sun.
