for my mommy.

after several pathetic excuses for not keeping up with the blog i had decided that i was going to quit it. but then again my overdramatic lil' TIT mentioned that if Vivi is anything like her that she would never forgive me and use it against me her whole life that i never treated her the same as our first born. Vivi has potential and because of that and for my mommy who occasionally visits my site to get a glimpse of the kids, i will not give up on this site.

and because this blog is also a journal of the kids' journey of life, i will blog and post according to the actual event dates so go back and take a look, as well.

Connor's school life has officially kicked into gear. he goes to school everyday, but due to school budget cuts (which never really meant anything to me until it actually applied to my life - so selfish, i know) he goes to school half day in the afternoon from 11 to 3. he goes everyday (so far it's been 2 weeks) without a fight. my lil' TIT said he was behind in reading and that other kids she knew were already reading. i felt guilty, but i seriously didn't know where to start. i tried but i felt it was difficult making him understand prior to kindergarten. i don't know if school, in already the short amount of time, set the groundwork or gave me a starting point, but i ran with it. now, he's reading AND writing (even 4 letter words). it's given me motivation to help him learn more.

obviously, food has never been Connor's strength and as expected, it's a battle again. he's only finished his lunch twice in 10 days. there have been days where he's only taken two bites of a slice of pizza (these are mini slices - i pack 4 of them for lunch). he eats this much in the 30 minutes allotted time, which means he's doing other things during lunch but eating.

in school, we've had a bit of a discipline problem already. you don't know how stressed i've been about this. apparently he often needs redirection (being told to do something) because he's "socializing". they're rewarded with a star at the end of the day for being good and after a total of 10 stars collected they are allowed to choose a prize from the treasure box, which contain items you probably get in birthday favor bags. Connor's already come home with no star. because Connor has no interest in the treasure box and therefore no interest in being GOOD, we had to develop our own bribing system. thus his prizes at home are breaking the bank a bit. it's been working and he's been coming home with a star everyday.

Vivi is a little drama queen. Connor calls her that and even calls her Meltdown Queen. obviously he got it from me. she's already figured that if her brother comes near her to take away something, she immediately screams. if she wants something that he has, she immediately screams. i ask her where the yuh-woo is and she points to herself. she is so full of life and personality. so different from Connor. Connor was so mellow and obedient. she's making him look boring.

as always she loves to eat and when she eats something tasty she says, "nuh-moo ma-shi-ssuh" or "yummy".

this doesn't happen very often. when it does, i cherish it.

she wants to do everything her brother does.

when we ask where her brother is (when not home), she says, 'school' (hak-gyo).

pretending to go to school.

Vivi is the girl i never was. she's teaching me now, even at her age, how to be a girl. she loves putting accessories on.

trying on her brother's hat.

3d.
thanks, s00jee eemo for the glasses!
kia headband and sweatband... and singing.

halloween?

Connor LOVES swimming. the task for this summer was to have him learn swimming. we took him to the aquatic zone hoping he would learn before the end of summer. to our surprise, he ended up learning in less than a month (6 sessions). we've decided to have him continue since he loves it so much and find it good exercise. this has been his process.

when he couldn't even put his head in the water.

practicing safe swimming. being able to swim to the closest wall if he fell in.

floating on his back.
now. freestyling.
