a day at the zoo.

Calvin invited Connor to the zoo for his birthday. we got lucky on a good day because wednesday was wrist band wednesday, meaning they could ride the choo choo train and the carousel and unlimited amount of times. usually each ride costs $3. i think we got our money's worth and rode the train twice and the carousel once.

i think Connor was a bit disappointed that his favorite spider, the goliath bird eating tarantula was hibernating and didn't show much action like before. however, he did get to experience a snake and a millipede up close.

Connor has been going out on a limb these days and his bravado is scaring his dad. he has now stepped out of his comfort range and eats foods like chicken nuggets, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers. i even got him to try pho and he ate a little bit. i'm such a proud momma. maybe i'm a bit greedy now but i would like it if he actually enjoyed eating it. hey, at least he's trying. he does enjoy chocolate chip cookies.
