news.

so people have been wondering where i am. it's been almost a month since i last blogged so now that i'm back i've got some updates and pictures to make up for it. i'd like to have had more pics but i just haven't been taking them... in hawaii... at home...

took a vacay to hawaii last week. first family vacay, just the 3 of us. let me just say there was no there to relieve us when we needed a break from the little one. i guess that's considered reality. either way it was relaxing none the less. we did all the tourist things last year so we stayed in waikiki the whole duration. our daily routine consisted of eating, walking on the beach, napping, playing on the beach, playing in the pool, then eating again.

day 1: bought Connor a seat even though we could've gotten away with him for free. he just wouldn't have had a seat since he's still under the age limit. the down part was that there was plenty on our return flight. hubby even had a whole row to himself. the flight there was a different story. apparently planes have weight limits and our's was over. a bit scary if you think about it. they had to kick people off the plane and gave them vouchers for a different flight. even afterwards the weight wasn't balanced so they had to shift the weight and ask more people to sit towards the back of the plane.

he behaved pretty well throughout the flight. slept for an 1 1/2 hour.

had a pillow fight with daddy.

Susan, who is interning in hawaii for 6-weeks picked us up and took us to the store so we had the staples for the babies. milk, apples, and juice for Connor. red bull, water, and alcohol for the hubby.

afterwards we stopped by leonard's bakery. literally a hole in the wall. didn't take any photos, but their malasadas were great. all i remember is Susan telling me to stuff my face while it was hot.

next we checked in to our hotel and got settled in.

view from our room.
no swimming for today because we were so tired and with the time adjustment it was already late for us. so we went for a quick eat. Susan had already had a few places in mind which was nice so we didn't have to deal with deciding on what to eat.

great ramen. again didn't take pictures of it but their paitan is good. Connor enjoyed it as well. apparently their stock produces collagen.

boy was really good most of the time when we went out to eat.

after i put the 2 boys to sleep, Susan and i went out for drinks at the hotel beach bar.

yum. lava flow.

day 2: breakfast at the veranda. this was my favorite meal of the day.

then we took a walk on the beach to work the breakfast off. perfect time of day. less people.

then we lounged around on the rocking chairs in front of the hotel and people watched.

after nap time we head out to the beach and did some walking around waikiki.

Connor has a love/hate relationship with birds.

day 3: breakfast at the veranda again and every day since our departure.

breakfast of champions: BACON. that's all he ate there was bacon and orange juice.

my breakfast.

i tried giving him pancakes but he didn't want nothing to do with it. so i ate it AND the waffles.

then it was off to the beach for a walk.

and then it was chasing after fishies.

nappy time was around the corner.

and then it was off to the beach.

then some poolside fun.

virgin lava flow.
dinner time was with Susan again at imanas tei. chanko nabe. like shabu shabu.

day 4: same ol' thing but it never gets old. today we spiced it up with some ice cream.

one of my favorite parts of the day.

loungin' around the balcony with his cocktail. orange juice and ice... in his underwear.

Susan also took us to the ala moana mall where i did a bit of damage. not enough but i made sure i went back the next day.

in the midst of this whole trip, hubby was drinking at 9:00 in the morning until he managed to catch a cold.

day 5: breakfast.

took the trolley to the ala moana mall to continue the damage. Connor thoroughly enjoyed the ride over there.

when we got there he was in awe. at guess what?

BALLOONS. i told him i couldn't get him those.

dinner with Susan at Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin. this is where hubby fell apart.

last day: was all about packing and heading out. kiddo slept for 2 hours. watched Up for almost 2 hours. made the trip back much smoother.

oh and yeah, the other big news. you know...
