asking for too much.

i guess i can't always get what i want without sacrificing something. a weekend in vegas sounds so easy to do, but with a kid it doesn't come that easy. the last time we took a trip w/out him was last year for our anniversary. he may have known we had gone missing but he definitely wasn't big enough to vocalize it. now he wakes up every morning and looks for mommy and daddy. this morning he asked me to change into my pjs because he didn't want me to leave for work. only for special occasions should we reserve the heartbreak.

last week Connor had a few accidents that left him with a few dents in him. all part of growing up, i guess. boys will be boys.

1. he jumped off a dresser cabinet and happened to hit his chin on the edge of it on his way down. don't ask. a little more worse and it looked like he may have needed stitches. luckily he walked away with a few tears.

2. he was running around in-n-out and next thing i know i couldn't see his head bobbling around but heard a thud and a large cry. turns out he made a pancake out of his face. busted his lip to the size of his dad's lip and bruised his nose. luckily, no bloody nose. teeth in tact.

i took him to this local child's gym called my gym. kind of like gymboree, where they interact with kids and learn basic coordination/social skills. first class is free so i gave it a try on my day off. he seemed to enjoy it while there, but when we got back home i asked if he wanted to go again and he said, 'no'. but he says 'no' to everything if we're at home. he's such a homebody. loner. definitely takes after daddy. the only trouble is the schedule. they only offer one class where i can actually make it. the other times his grandparents would have to take him. i just want to make sure i get my money's worth.

and then it was another day at the park. daddy posing for the camera. j/k. he was trying to climb the pole and that's as far off the ground as he got. lol.

where's waldo?

I'm sure his homebody will change once you give him a sibling. Sounds like Connor is just behaving like a normal only child. He needs someone his own size to beat up and jump off the cabinet/dresser/rooftops and blame that it was the other guys fault! =)
