merry christmas.

overload.

christmas eve dinner at my house. main dish was steak and crab. added a different thing to the menu, mushroom medly. used 5 different kinds of mushrooms, sauteed them in butter and garlic.

Connor is not used to a feminine mom. i don't think he's ever seen earrings on me. thus, his amusement with grandma's earrings.

christmas is also MIL's bday.

those are not special decorations, but the balloons that he's accrued over time. this is what our house looks like on a normal day. in every room that you walk in, i can almost guarantee you'll find a balloon of some sort (regular latex balloon, animal balloon, water balloon, foil balloon, etc.).

so as i mentioned, we decided to get him balloons for christmas. i wanted to originally put them in a box but i couldn't find one big enough so i just put them next to the christmas tree. i didn't get the reaction that i wanted. his excitement was a bit delayed. i think he was in shock. when he woke up we asked him if he wanted balloons. his obvious answer was, 'yes'. so we asked him, 'how many?' and he replied with, 'man-hee' (lots). we said that he could only have one and you can hear the conversation he had with his dad as he had a surprise waiting for him downstairs. towards the end you can see him excited fleeing from his dad's arms to get to the balloons.

later in the day we took him to the park. it's been a while and he had a blast.



the rest of the days off was just relaxing... until my back gave out. i don't even know how. can't lift Connor. can't walk. can't sit right. can't put my pants on.

so Connor's other habit was "accruing" goldfish. we tried to get him off his balloon fix. he was wanting to buy a goldfish every day. i think we had up to 13 at one point. now we have 9 or so. fil takes really good care of these $0.13/each feeder fish. they've lasted a few months now. he changes their water every day, most likely because Connor sticks his hands in there.

now here's the interesting story. apparently we started noticing one fish looking a bit deformed. his fins were missing and then parts of his tail ended up missing.

turns out this fat guy was eating him up slowly. he's the biggest of the bunch and he keeps getting bigger. he's such a bully. i want to eat him up. i think i'll sashimi him up one day if he keeps it up.

took him to the park again on sunday. daddy's been a really helpful hubby these days and it seems to show since Connor won't leave his side.

hubby mentioned that i should record him talking since his vocabulary has expanded.

Seung Ho is his korean name but he likes to call himself 'Seung GO'. he's saying he tied it himself. he knows how to say things are his now. he knows ownership now.

'man-hee' = lots.

Connor calls hubby's alcohol, 'appa juice' = daddy juice.
