16 1/2 weeks.

yesterday hubby and i went to the doctor's. i didn't get an ultrasound picture today and i was a bit sad. i was looking forward to seeing how big the baby got. we did however, get to hear his/her heartbeat. everytime the doctor tried to catch the heartbeat, the baby would move and make a shuffling noise. she said the baby was very active and had a fast heartbeat. faster heartbeats are sometimes associated with girls, but it's not completely true. she then asked if i wanted to borrow a fun book that helps determine signs of a boy or girl. she said we'll have fun with it before our next visit when we find out if it really is a boy or girl. yesterday's visit was mostly about getting a screening blood test to make sure the baby was alright.
