if you're telling a story and somebody doesn't seem interested, do you want to keep telling the story? (remember, i'm talking about normal people.)

you realize the other person can care less about what you're talking about so you stop. of course they don't realize you're not done with your story and think you're finished so they begin talking about their own thing. you react the same way they did when you were telling your story and they realize that you don't care about what they're talking about and ask, 'what's wrong?' you tell them. they don't apologize. instead, they say, 'oh. you should've interrupted me and continued with your story.' would you still continue with your story? to finish is not the point. to pay attention is the point.

then they say, why are you all upset all of a sudden? do you not get that when you called you were already complaining you were tired, were bringing my mood down, was not listening to my story, ask me to continue a story you can care less about, and then ask why i'm upset all of a sudden? all of a sudden? did you miss all the other sting of events you pissed me off?

then you realize i'm upset and say, 'ok, well i'm going to go take a shower now.' are you just plain out rude?
